Day 4, fly by charter aircraft directly to Mozambique or schedule via Johannesburg to Vilanculos. A short transfer from the mainland to Indigo Bay Island Resort Hotel situated on Bazaruto Island. The hotel, complete with softly fringed thatched roofs and island-friendly architecture, ideal for the tropics, offers tranquil harmony, beauty, gracious service, scrumptious seafood and a myriad activities including horse riding, nature drives, sunset cruises, island-hopping, diving and fishing. For those who wish to simply relax: swim in the warm, calm and protected Indian Ocean, stroll on the powdery white beach or float on the infinitive salt-water swimming pool. Spend 4 nights of pure relaxation here, before returning to Johannesburg for your onward connection.
Zambia - The Luangwa Encounter: 6 nights
Experience the thrill of a seven-day mobile walking safari in untamed Africa. The combination of the adventure of walking, coupled with hot refreshing showers and exceptional hospitality at each camp makes this the ultimate safari experience. Your walking safari is divided into 2 nights in each of the three superb Bushcamps as follows: Chamilandu Bushcamp, Chindeni Bushcamp and Bilimungwe Bushcamp. Day 7: Depart the South Luangwa for Lusaka or Lilongwe for your onward connection.
Zambia: Historical South Luangwa: (10 nights)
Day 1 Fly into Lusaka and board an Airlink plane to Mfuwe Airport in the Luangwa Valley. You will be met at the airport by Robin Pope Safaris and transferred by vehicle (45 minutes) to Nkwali Camp. Afternoon tea and refreshments will be served at 1530hrs prior to embarking on your evening game-viewing activity. (Short Bush Walk, Afternoon & Night Drive) Day 2 Relax and enjoy camp with game activities in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Day 3 Early morning starts with tea and toast on the riverbank prior to a wonderful game drive transfer to either Tena Tena or Nsefu Camp, which also includes a brief river crossing to reach camp for brunch. Enjoy and relax in the bush until the afternoon activities. |
Day 4 Relax and enjoy camp with game activities both in the morning, afternoon and evening. Day 5 On this third day at this camp as an alternative or in addition, we can organize a visit to the Kawaza Village project where guests can spend a day at the village for a cultural experience with local people, by request in advance. Back to camp. Day 6 This morning starts with a game drive or walking transfer to our other camp in the park. You will arrive at either Tena Tena or Nsefu to a warm welcome and cold drinks, relax and enjoy the camp before the afternoon activities. Day 7 Relax and enjoy the activities, maybe go and sit by a lagoon and see what comes down to drink or watch the hippos in the river. Day 8 Early morning game viewing transfer to Mfuwe Airport, to connect to your flight to Shiwa House. Arrive midday, have lunch and then a guided tour of the house including a briefing on the background of Sir Stewart Gore Browne, family portraits and history as far back as 1725. A 1½ hour history walk of saw and essential oil mills, traction engines, and old farm buildings follows afternoon tea. Dinner Day 9 Early morning tea/coffee and escorted walk to seek sitatunga/ blue duiker (weather permitting). Return at 0800hrs for full farm breakfast (all produce from farm). Morning in the archives, photographic records from 1914-present. Mid morning walk/drive to Stewart Gore Brown graves and spectacular view of lake. Lunch followed by afternoon snooze. Afternoon tea followed by game drive to see some of 22 mammal species currently stocked on the estate. Dinner Day 10 Early breakfast, followed by river walk along the Katete River to see the ice age rapian forest and ancient palms - Nesting ground to palmnut vultures. Swim in the icy spring river (For the brave - Summer only) Depart for lunch at Kapishya Hot Springs and afternoon visit to Machusa Falls. Return late afternoon to Shiwa house. Day 11 Enjoy a hearty breakfast before departure, flying to Mfuwe and then connect on to Lusaka.
NOTE: During the Green Season (Apr, May, November and December), Tena Tena is closed. Nkwali Camp remains open for full safari activities, including all day picnic safaris, use of the swimming pool and visits to Kawaza Village Project. The Green Season itinerary is 5 nights Nkwali and 5 nights at Shiwa House.
